Daisy Hill Hospital patients save time by checking in
Patients coming to Daisy Hill and Craigavon Area Hospital are now saving time at their appointments by using self-check-in kiosks.
The Kiosks have been installed in the Outpatients and Antenatal departments at both hospitals, as well as the Ramone Building in Craigavon.
And patients are certainly seeing the benefits, as Anita Carroll, Southern Trust Assistant Director of Acute Services, explained, “This new technology has helped reduce the time patients have to wait to book in for their appointment as they won’t have to queue to see a receptionist.
“These kiosks are very straightforward to use – patients are asked to confirm their gender and date of birth and the system will then ask them to confirm more details prior to booking in.
“The kiosks are also equipped with built-in printers, which will print off a ticket with the patient’s call number, appointment time and location and receptionists are still on hand if you need any further help.
“The new booking system also includes a range of different language versions including – Polish, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Russian, Latvian and Slovak to ensure as many people as possible can use the kiosks.”
Anita added, “We are hoping to add more devices to both hospitals in the coming months and provide them at our facilities in other areas including Armagh, Dungannon and Banbridge.”
