Donnelly urges local people to take part in rural development consultation
SDLP Councillor Geraldine Donnelly has urged local people to have their say in how rural development funds are used in South Armagh.
Councillor Donnelly was speaking after attending a public consultation meeting in South Armagh.
She said, “Rural Development funding of £11.18 million has been earmarked for the Newry, Mourne and Down council area. As local strategies for the spend of these funds are drawn up, it’s important that local people have their say on how our rural communities can be improved.
“The Mourne, Gullion and Lecale Rural Development Partnership has started their public consultation and I would encourage everyone to attend the events planned throughout the area over the coming weeks.
She added, “This is an excellent opportunity to support some of the fantastic work taking place in rural communities.”
