Ruane condemns anti-social behaviour at local beauty spot

Crotlieve Sinn Féin Councillor Micky Ruane has condemned thieves who stole a picnic table at a well known beauty spot on Carmeen Road between Hilltown and Mayobridge.

mournes7“This anti-social action hurts the entire local community and undermines the work Newry, Mourne and Down District Council are undertaking to build tourism in the area,” Councillor Ruane said.

“The picnic tables have only recently been reinstated as a way of helping locals and visitors enjoy the beautiful scenery of this area and to encourage tourism, with all the benefits it brings the community.

He added, “I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI so those responsible can be brought to justice.”
