Two cats die after ‘unexplained injuries’ in Newry
Newry Neighbourhood Policing Team are asking residents in Barcroft to report any suspicious activity after three cats sustained unexplained injuries.
Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Ali McCartney said, “We received a report of a cat in the Barcroft area sustaining injuries to its pelvis on 28th June.
“It transpired that this is the third cat in the area to sustain injuries of this nature. Two of the cats had to be euthanized. The third cat is currently being kept in a cage to hold it immobile while the bone heals.
“There is a possibility that these injuries are being inflicted on the animals and we would appeal to anyone who has information which may assist our enquiries to contact us in Newry on 101, quoting ref: 1064 280615.
He added, “If you notice any suspicious activity please contact us straight away on 101.”
