Garden ornament painted red, white and blue treated as ‘hate crime’

Police in South Down are appealing for information following an incident of criminal damage in Kilkeel.

psni officerSometime between 10.30pm on Monday, 6th April and 8.30am on Tuesday, 7th April, an ornamental garden feature at the top of the drive of a house on Aughnaloopy Road was painted red, white and blue.

Constable Nigel Crone said, “This is being treated as a hate crime and we would like to hear from anyone who noticed any activity around this area between 6th April and 7th April. We can be contacted in Kilkeel on 101, quoting ref: 349 070415.”
