Clock miles in Newry for Meningitis Research Foundation
Local charity Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) is calling runners and walkers taking part in this year’s Newry City marathon to do so in support of their work.
This year’s event which includes a full marathon, half marathon, 10k run and 12 mile walk takes place on Sunday 24th May.
Perhaps you have experienced meningitis first hand or know of someone who has been affected. You may just simply wish to support a worthy cause as you clock those miles! No matter what the reason is, MRF would love to hear from you.
Meningitis and septicaemia affects around 3,200 people in the UK and Ireland each year. Sadly around one in 10 people who contract meningitis and septicaemia will die.
These diseases change lives. A third of those who survive the initial diagnosis suffer life altering effects such as deafness, brain damage and multiple amputations.
With your help MRF can continue to fund vital research, raise awareness and support those who have been affected by these devastating diseases.
Please contact Karen on 028 9032 1283 or email karend@meningitis-ni.org to recieve a fundraising pack and charity t-shirt and simply raise what you can.
