St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School, Newry Ski Trip a huge success
St. Joseph’s recently returned from another highly successful Ski Trip to France.
The venue for this year’s trip was Alpe d’Huez and the thirty five students and three accompanying teachers enjoyed wonderful snow conditions and a ‘ blue sky’ week of excellent weather.
The pupils had their usual five hours of tuition from Ecole du Ski Francais (ESF) each day, and most progressed to early Intermediate skiing by the end of the week.
The Instructors complimented the boy’s on their behaviour, attitude and determination to improve.
The school’s long term Ski provider, SkiBound, were as usual, first class for the provision of accommodation, food and après ski activities for both pupils and staff.
Couple this with the fact that the Belle Aurore Hotel’s ideal location, only thirty metres from ski lifts meant the pupils could ski back virtually to the door of their hotel.
The next trip is already at the planning stage, and will return to a new location in France, giving more St. Joseph’s pupils the opportunity to experience a major continental trip to a different country and culture but more importantly enjoy the benefits of a fantastic week skiing.
