Call for street lights to be fixed in Rostrevor

Crotlieve Sinn Féin Councillor Mick Murphy has expressed concern at the current lack of adequate lighting in two areas of Rostrevor.

“I have contacted the DRD department responsible for street lighting to ask them to urgently address three different problems in Rostrevor”, Councillor Murphy said.

“There are currently five street lamps which are not working in the St Rita’s area and one in Glenn Ross.

“The residents are understandably concerned about issues of safety and security around this and I am urging the department to fix these problems as soon as possible.

He added, “I have also pointed out to them that in the area around Cloughmore Park there are many streetlights which are lit throughout the day, a great waste of resources.”
