Police join 500 motoring enthusiasts at Newry car cruise event
Police in Newry recently attended a car cruise which took place in Damolly Retail Park.
Organised by Ignition 247, the cruise attracts motoring enthusiasts from both north and south of the border.
More than 300 modified and performance cars attended with a crowd of up to 500 people.
The PSNI brought along their modified R32 Golf which demonstrated how your car can be legally modified. The R32 was funded through Peace III.
Constable Kenny Gracey, Newry Neighbourhood Policing Team, said, “We have worked alongside Ignition 247 on a number of events and the car cruises seem to be growing in popularity.
“It is invaluable in helping us build relationships with young drivers and those who want to make their car their own while staying within the law.
He added, “It provides us with the opportunity to meet a diverse range of motoring enthusiasts and to reinforce our road safety message.”
