Man charged after Newry supermarket theft

Police in Newry have charged a man following a theft from a local supermarket. Police received a report of the theft of a number of candles from supermarket premises on Downshire Road on Monday, 15th December. Officers arrested a 33 year old man in Craigavon later on the same day and subsequently charged him with possession of Class B drugs and theft to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court on 7th January, 2015. As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
