£7000 cash and Class A drugs seized in Newry house search

The local PSNI Tactical Crime Team have seized more than £7000 under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Officers conducted the planned search of a house in the Millview Court area of Newry on Monday, 22nd September.

A small quantity of Class A drugs and counterfeit currency was seized, in addition to more than £7000 of sterling and Euro.

A 28 year old man was reported to the PPS for drug and fraud offences.

Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Wright said, “We were able to recover a substantial amount of cash, including some counterfeit notes.

“I would like to thank the community for their support – this is another example of how successful we can be in tackling crime when we work together.”
