Wedding rings among items taken in Newry burglary
Police in Newry are appealing for information following a burglary in The Demesne area.
Some time between Tuesday, 26th August and Friday, 5th September, entry was forced to a house.
Constable Giles Magee, Newry Response, said, “A thief, or thieves, gained entry to this house and went through a number of rooms.
“A blue Renault Megane, reg RJZ 5628 was taken from the property along with a sum of cash, a 50 inch Sharp TV, a 32in LG TV, an Xbox One and a Wii console and a substantial quantity of jewellery including a lady’s and man’s Tag watch (black strap, white face and gold surround), an engagement ring, wedding rings and other gold items.
“The jewellery holds extreme sentimental value for the owner and she is keen to have this returned. It would have taken some time to remove these items from the house and I would like to hear from anyone who noticed activity around the house during this time or has information about the whereabouts of the car.
He added, “I can be contacted at Ardmore Police Station on the 101 non-emergency number.”
