South Armagh business wins 2014 Innovation Award
South Armagh company Foldeaze has won the ‘Manufacturing’ category of The Irish Times InterTradeIreland Innovation Awards 2014, which was held at a special awards ceremony at The Royal Hospital, Kilmainham in Dublin.
The Jonesborough based firm won the award for their BRIAR Connect Clipping System, a unique innovative system that eliminates the need for any tool fixings or skills, which makes their modular furniture products simple and easy to assemble.
For winning the ‘Manufacturing’ category, the company now receive a €10,000 media package with The Irish Times and an iPad.
Foldeaze specialise in the design and manufacture of a range of multimedia units, contemporary shelving and modular storage solutions.
They have pioneered a unique cutting and folding process for their products, and by incorporating the ‘BRIAR Connect’ clipping system, they are fast becoming a leader in technology and design in the furniture industry.
Speaking at the Irish Times InterTradeIreland Innovation Awards, An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, said, “The Irish Government wants to support innovation and research to drive job creation and assist in attracting foreign investment.
“These awards show that companies across the island, North and South, can be leaders in their field and innovators like the award winners will play a major part in economic recovery.
Kenny added, “I would like to congratulate the team at Foldeaze on their win and commend The Irish Times and InterTradeIreland for their commitment to supporting Irish businesses.”
