Newry RFC hosts Primary School Blitz
Around 80 pupils from three local Primary Schools took part in a Tag Rugby Blitz at Newry RFC recently.
The participating schools; St. Joeseph’s PS Bessbrook, Bessbrook PS and St. Patrick’s PS The Meadow, brought two teams each.
The event was organised by Ulster Rugby’s Community Rugby Coach Jonathon Graham with support from development officers Marc Beggs and James McBriar.
All three coaches have been working in schools to grow the game of rugby.
The event was made possible due to the generous support of the NI Executive and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure through the ‘Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion through Sport’ programme.
