Patients save time by checking themselves in at local hospital
Patients coming to Daisy Hill Hospital are now able to check themselves in for appointments using a new Self Check-in Kiosk.
The Kiosk has been installed in the Outpatients department at the hospital and patients are already seeing the benefits.
Anita Carroll, Southern Trust Assistant Director of Acute Services explained, “This new technology will reduce the time patients have to wait to book in for their appointment as they won’t have to queue to see a receptionist.
“These kiosks are very straightforward to use – patients are asked to confirm their gender and date of birth and the system will then ask them to confirm more details prior to booking in.
“The kiosks are also equipped with built-in printers, which will print off a ticket with the patient’s call number, appointment time and location and receptionists are still on hand if you need any further help.
She added, “The new booking system also includes a range of different language versions including; Polish, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Russian, Latvian and Slovak to ensure as many people as possible can use the kiosks.”
