Thieves wearing ski masks hold down woman during robbery

Detectives in Newry are investigating the report of a robbery at a house in the Glassdrumman Road area of Annalong on Wednesday 15th January.

The report was received at around 11.45am this morning that two men had called to the door of a house and forced their way inside when the door was opened by the female occupant.

The men, who were described as wearing ski masks, gloves and hi-viz vests held the woman down, assaulted her and then stole a sum of cash in denominations of £20 notes.

Reports that the men may have left the scene in a white vehicle are being investigated. The woman was taken to hospital to be treated for shock and non life threatening injuries.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area and who may have noticed any suspicious activity to contact them in CID at Newry on 0845 600 8000.
