Buttercrane Quay works to start

Newry and Mourne District Council wish to inform the wider public in regards to the commencement of Public Realm works on Buttercrane Quay.

The works that will take place on the Canal side of Buttercrane Quay from January to June 2014 represent a continuation of the Newry Linkages Public Realm Scheme that is already on-site along Merchants Quay.

A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of the works, which will temporarily restrict the overall width of the Buttercrane Quay road-way, while also trying to maintain two-way traffic.

With the Temporary Traffic Management Plan coming into effect from Wednesday 15th January 2014 onwards, the Scheme promoters would ask members of the public, both pedestrians and motorists to take note and follow the new temporary directional signage/carriageway markings that will be in place for the duration of the works.
