Constable Gray, Newry and Mourne Response, said, “We want everyone to enjoy themselves when they are out and it is important that each individual remembers to drink responsibly and show respect for others.
“Often your reaction to situations can be different when you are under the influence of alcohol and it is easy to get caught up in actions which would be totally alien to you when sober.
He added, “When you are on a night out, please be mindful of your alcohol intake and make sure you keep safe. If you find yourself in a situation which is out of your control, remove yourself safely and contact police at the earliest opportunity. We would much rather respond to a request for help than see someone injured or worse.”
