Masked burglars make off with £5 after burglary

Police in Newry are appealing for information following a robbery in Aughrim Road.

Around 8pm on Friday, 15th November, two masked men entered a house and assaulted the 58 year old male occupant.

The males proceeded to search the house and made off with £5 cash. It is believed they may have left the area in a vehicle. The occupant sustained bruising to his face and a cut to his head.

The first male is described as being 5ft 6in tall, of medium build and was wearing dark coloured gloves. The second male is described as being 5ft 9in to 6ft tall and of medium build.

Police are appealing to anyone who noticed any activity around Aughrim Road on Friday evening, 15 November, to contact them in Kilkeel on 0845 600 8000.
