Excitement builds for Hilltown Halloween Feile
Hilltown Community Group has announced another fun filled programme for Halloween.
Announcing the list of events Chairperson of the group Johnny McPolin stated, “Halloween is developing into one of Ireland’s premier annual events and the Hilltown Halloween Féile on Wednesday 31st October promises to be as good as any other event across Ireland.
“This year the festival will contain a variety of events to entertain the entire family in a safe environment, including an environmentally friendly beacon and fireworks. The environmentally friendly bonfire will be lit at 8pm at the Old Chapel carpark followed by fireworks at 9pm.
“There is also a disco for young people in the Downshire Arms beginning at 7.30pm which will include workshops for kids. I would encourage families to come along and join in the fun by dressing up and having a great time with the planned fun and games.
Mark McGibbons added, “This is part of the programme of working towards building a safer Hilltown and providing the residents with positive alternatives to unregulated bonfires.
“I would like to thank the Policing Community Safety Partnership for its ongoing support and would ask anyone who would like to contribute to the festivities through volunteering or any other way to get in touch.
He added, “Families should now be marking this in their calendar and looking forward to a fun filled evening of entertainment.”
