Police investigate Warrenpoint thefts

Police in Warrenpoint are advising car owners not to leave valuables in unattended vehicles.

Two incidents of theft have occurred in the past week at a Kilbroney Forest car park in the Shore Road area of Rostrevor.

On Wednesday 14th August a wallet containing a sum of money and cards was stolen from a van. The first incident occurred on Wednesday 7th August, where filming equipment was taken from a silver Citroen Berlingo.

Anyone with any information about either of these incidents is asked to contact Warrenpoint Police Station on 0845 600 8000.

Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, the can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Motorists are advised that they should never leave valuables on view in their vehicles. PSNI advice is to take any valuable items with you when you leave the car. Advice on vehicle security can be obtained from your local Crime Prevention Officer on 0845 600 8000.
