Police launch investigation after convent burglary

Police in Newry are appealing for information following a burglary at convent premises in the High Street area in the early hours of Wednesday 8th May. It is believed access was gained to the premises at around 3am and a number of industrial washing machines and tumble driers taken. Police would ask anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact them at Ardmore on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111
