Police investigate Newry double burglary

Police in Newry are appealing for information following the theft of a vehicle from Liska Avenue.

At 4.23am on Friday, 5th April, police received a report of a householder disturbing a male in her home in Liska Avenue.

The male then made off. A number of rooms in the house had been entered and car keys taken and a white Nissan Juke vehicle was subsequently stolen.

In a second incident a wooden shed at another address on Liska Avenue was entered sometime overnight between 4th April and 5th April. A petrol strimmer, chainsaw and other items were taken.

Police conducted house to house enquiries and were made aware of a silver Toyota Previa in the same area being entered. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.

Police are appealing to anyone who noticed any activity around the area during this time or has information in relation to these incidents to contact them in Ardmore on 0845 600 8000.
