Kennedy relieved that local Ulster Bank branches to remain open

Newry and Armagh Ulster Unionist MLA, Danny Kennedy has expressed his relief that the Tandragee and Newtownhamilton communities will still have access to Ulster Bank branches.

Speaking to Newry Times, Kennedy said, “I was relieved to hear that Ulster Bank`s branches in Tandragee and Newtownhamilton will be remaining open. This will be welcomed by the residents and business communities of both towns.

“It will also come as a welcome relief to the staff of each branch who have been through weeks of uncertainty. These branches provide an important service to the local community and local businesses. It was a sensible decision to retain these branches.

“However this news is also tempered by the fact that 11 other Ulster Bank branches across Northern Ireland will be closed,” he added.
