MEP visits Narrow Water Bridge site

Sinn Féin MLA Caitriona Ruane has welcomed the continued commitment from MEP Martina Anderson to see the Narrow Water Bridge project completed, after a recent visit to the Narrow Water Bridge site.

Speaking to Newry Times, Ms. Ruane said, “I accompanied Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson to a visit to the Narrow Water Bridge site along with members of the local chambers of commerce.

“Martina gave a commitment to pursue this project to its completion as she also sees the importance of the project to the local economy.

“The bridge will open up opportunities to develop the tourist industry as a catalyst of economic regeneration in the area and also to improve the transport infrastructure for local businesses.

Ruane added, “Martina has already helped secure funding from the Special EU Programmes Body so her continued support is deeply appreciated by everyone involved in this project.”
