Newry business students experience the Dragon’s Den
Budding entrepreneurs from the Extended Diploma Business programme stepped into the Dragon’s Den with dragons from the Newry Junior Chamber of Commerce.
The year two students presented their business plans to the panel who were impressed by the excellent standard of the business ideas and the presentations and the enthusiasm that all of the students displayed.
Those who dared to step into the den faced a formidable range of dragons comprising, Brendan Malone from Malone Lynchehaun Accountants, Martina Murtagh, Accountant and Gavin Tinnelly.
However unlike the stone faced business moguls on RTE and BBC, famed for their no nonsense attitude and savage put-downs, the Newry Junior Chamber Dragons were hugely impressed by the high level of detail, research and knowledge that was included within the presentations and business plans and they provided the students with positive and encouraging feedback on their performances.
The top prize was presented to Victoria McKnight and Owen Finnegan claimed second prize.
