Letters to the Editor, ‘Lights in tunnels need to be fixed’
Dear Editor,
I would like to tell you a story that happened to me a few days ago. I was coming from Hill Street to Abbey yard at approximately 8pm on my way home.
As you are aware it is dark at this time and I proceeded to go through the tunnels and go under the road.
The tunnels are now in total darkness due to none of the lights are working. As I walked through the broken glass, empty bottles, containers, urine and other bodily discretions I was approached by someone asking for change. I found this very scary as I could not even see the person’s face.
I am sure you are aware that this has been like this for well over a year, are we waiting until somebody falls on broken glass, gets mugged or attacked?
I see that there are plans to add new facilities to the city, but do you not think that we should be maintain the existing facilities as well?
Many Thanks,
Philip McConville
