Sinn Féin MLA Megan Fearon participated in the Don’t Lose Your Marbles event at the Assembly on Wednesday past to mark World Mental Health Day. Speaking to Newry Times, Fearon said, “The Don’t Lose your Marbles exercise was enjoyable and was well attended by MLA’s and Assembly staff, it is important to remember that this is a very serious issue. “This event was to raise public awareness about mental health issues, by being aware of our own mental health, we can build resilience to; and learn to cope better with the many obstacles that may arise throughout our lives. She added, “One in four people here can suffer with mental health problems, so it’s important that people seek help and don’t try to cope with it on their own. Action Mental Health must be commended for their extensive work with raising public awareness and removing the stigma that is attached to mental health.”
