Hazzard calls for local support for Age NI Foreign Currency Appeal
Sinn Féin MLA Chris Hazzard has called on local people to support Age NI Foreign Currency Appeal by donating any foreign currency they return home with from holiday.
Speaking to Newry Times, Hazzard stated,
“A recent survey showed that 89% of people return from foreign holiday with currency that usually ends up lying in a draw never to be used again or being dumped. Age NI have now initiated a fund raising scheme where they will accept any foreign currency both coin or notes in order to fund their charitable activities.”
“There is no doubt that Age NI carry out great work in relation to senior citizens so I would appeal to everyone who has recently returned from abroad to check if they have any foreign currency and if so donate to Age NI.”
He added, “The currency can be left in any of the Age NI offices or posted to Age NI Fundraising Foreign Currency Appeal, Freepost RRTU-HSZY-LTHZ 3 Lower Crescent Belfast BT7 1 NR.”
