Newry Chamber to host Business Lunch with Ed Balls
To celebrate its 120th Year Anniversary, Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade will host a very special Business Lunch with guest of honour, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer Ed Balls MP.
This high profile event on 11th October 2012 will represent the Shadow Chancellors premier speaking engagement in Northern Ireland and will take place on 11th October in the Canal Court Hotel.
President Cathal Austin, Newry Chamber of Commerce stated, “My Chamber colleagues and I are delighted to be hosting this very important event to celebrate 120 years of Newry Chamber serving the local business community.”

Austin continued, “We eagerly look forward to hearing the Shadow Chancellor’s analysis of the UK economy, his opinion on what needs to be done to tackle the recession and to hear the Labour Party’s policies and strategies to promote economic growth.
Dearbhail McDonald, Legal Editor of the Irish Independent and local Newry woman will be probing Ed Balls on these topics and many more during an on stage interview at the event.
High on the agenda will be the Shadow Chancellor’s recent offer to work with Business Secretary Vince Cable into pressurizing the Conservatives into adopting a Plan B to re-invigorate the economy; with such hot political topics currently in the national media this on stage interview promises to be intriguing, thought provoking and entertaining.
