SDLP South Down MLA Karen McKevitt has complimented the PSNI on their major cannabis seizure near Warrenpoint. McKevitt was speaking after Newry Times exclusively broke the story today that Police in the area uncovered over £350,000 worth of Cannabis after a planned house search in the seaside town. McKevitt said, “Clearly this was a very substantial seizure, but perhaps more importantly, it was not just a question of drugs being held for distribution. A very substantial production plant has been put out of operation. Illegal drugs of all kinds don’t just do harm to individuals, but to families and whole communities.” She added, “Putting the suppliers out of business is a job for the whole community working alongside the police.” Related articles: Police seize £350,000 of drugs in Warrenpoint
