McGreevy congratulates Cranfield Beaches on Blue Flags

SDLP Group Leader on Newry and Mourne Council, Cllr Connaire McGreevy, has congratulated those who worked towards the two beaches at Cranfield attaining Blue Flag status.

Speaking to Newry Times, McGreevy said:

“It is great to see the beaches at Cranfield being recognised once again for the quality of their environment. I am delighted to congratulate all those who work so hard to keep the beaches clean and tidy and the water quality at the highest standard. I look forward to this status being maintained in the future, perhaps with the addition of the beach by Warrenpoint Baths, which should be strongly considered as a candidate next year.”

He added, “South Down is already an enormous draw for tourists and these Blue Flags are testament to the quality of the environment offered to those visiting our beautiful part of Ireland.”
