Hearty welcomes Annaghgad roadworks
Councillor Terry Hearty has welcomed the roadworks currently underway on Culloville’s Annaghgad Road and he has called for the extension of the scheme to resurface even more of the road and deal with the problem of flooding on the Drumbee Road.
Speaking to Newry Times, Councillor Hearty said, “I am pleased to see that Roads Service has begun the resurfacing work on the Annaghgad Road which I called for some time ago. I know that any roadworks will mean a temporary inconvenience for those living along the road but it will be worthwhile in the end and I know local motorists will have patience on this issue.”
He added, “In addition, I have also requested that Roads Service examine the possibility of extending the resurfacing to a greater part of the road and also that flooding issues on the Drumbee Road be addressed. This is an ideal time to carry out these additional necessary works when the workmen are already in the area.”
