McGinn expresses concern over Carnagat quad biking
Newry and Mourne Councillor Pat McGinn has stated that quad and mini quad bike activity is causing major concerns to many living in the Carnagat area. He made his comments after the issue was highlighted at the recent AGM of the Carnagat Community Association when a number of those in attendance aired their anger and frustration about the growing problem and demanded it to stop.
Speaking to Newry Times, Councillor McGinn said, “There have been numerous complaints about the riding of these motorised bikes in the locality. The noise, the destruction of grass areas and most importantly the dangers to both drivers and residents has frustrated and angered many local residents.”
He continued, “If ridden safely, legally and the right setting, these mini motos and Quads can be fun, but what is happening in the Carnagat locality is anti-social and dangerous and cannot be tolerated.”
