Name: Danielle Crilly.

Age: 22.

Education/experience: I’ve got a degree in Sociology from the University of Ulster.

What part of Newry & Mourne are you originally from? I’m from Killeavy.

When did you leave Newry? August 2011.

Why did you leave Newry? (i.e. no jobs, you wanted to travel, bored etc.): To travel and seek better work and a good lifestyle.

Who did you go with? (Friends/family etc): I went with my boyfriend and our friends.

What are you doing now in Australia? Are you working? Yes I recently got a job working for the government which assists people from overseas looking to settle in Australia.

Are you enjoying life away from Newry?Yes, I’m loving the new experience.

What do you miss most about Newry? My family and friends and the food definitely. I miss La Dolce Vita and Happy Villa.

When will you return to Newry or if you don’t know, then would you like to eventually return here? I will return next year for a holiday but i am currently seeking residency in Australia so if my application is accepted I will be here for a few more years.

Career ambition (i.e. your perfect job): Primary school teaching.

What would you say to anybody still living in Newry who can’t find work? Have a look elsewhere – traveling is fun and you get to experience a lot of new things. I found it very hard to find a job over here which suited me but I stuck at it and now i’m loving it.

Anything else you would like to add? Merry Christmas to all my family and friends back home.
