Newry police find £15,000 of suspected Heroin during car search

A 34 year old man and a 29 year old women have been arrested by police from Belfast.

It follows the seizure of £15,000 worth of suspected Heroin just outside Newry, which was bound for sale in Belfast.

 

 

Speaking to Newry Times, Chief Inspector Kelly Moore said, “The arrests were made after officers stopped a car outside Newry yesterday evening.

“This proactive operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the supply of incredibly harmful drugs and substances coming into Belfast, and keep people safe.

 

 

“Both people remain in custody this evening assisting us with our enquiries.

 

He added, “If anyone has any information which may be of assistance please contact 101 quoting reference 1518 of 23/08/17, or if you wish to remain anonymous Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
