Mayobridge vandalism condemned

Chair of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Gillian Fitzpatrick has condemned those behind a spate of vandalism incidents in Mayobridge.

fitzpatrick2The damage included sign posts pulled out, mail boxes thrown in fields and flowerpots uprooted.

Speaking to Newry Times, Cllr Fitzpatrick said, “It appears that vandals caused damage at a number of spots throughout Mayobridge.

“Without a care for the local community or local people, they pulled out signs, threw mail boxes into fields and damaged flower pots that have lifted the atmosphere in the village.

“Residents on the Carnmeen and Old Carnmeen road are deeply frustrated by this attack on our community.
