Commenting on the Minister’s reply, Bradley said, “I welcome the Minister’s response to my question where he informed me that he hoped the business case of St Joseph’s Crossmaglen should be approved by April 2015.

“I further ask the Minister if he would ensure that his department would do everything possible to ensure rapid movement on the application. I was pleased the Minister was able to respond positively and I look forward to the process moving ahead after approval of the business plan.”

SDLP Newry and Armagh representative Justin McNulty said, “I commend the pupils, parents and teachers who have spearheaded a very effective Scoil Nua campaign. St Joseph’s has a fine tradition of delivering first class education in the area and the teachers and pupils deserve first class facilities.

He added, “I pledge to do everything in my power to support this campaign for the new school and ensure it moves ahead without delay.”
