Excitement builds for opening of Newry Sports Direct and USC stores in Buttercrane
Sports Direct and USC are preparing for the launch of their brand-new megastore in Buttercrane Centre next week.
Cited in the former M&S premises, Sports Direct/USC has completely transformed the 51,000 sq foot space in recent months.
The new store is due to open its doors on 14 August.
It will offer a huge range of branded fashion merchandise, with USC on the ground floor and a stunning array of sportswear for ladies, gents, and kids over the other levels.
In addition, the store will have a Game shop selling the latest gaming releases and accessories as well as the impressive Belong Gaming Arena where gamers can play on high spec gaming PCs.
The huge 51,000 sq ft megastore is located over two levels, with stairs, lift and escalator options to travel between departments.
It really does offer the wow factor in terms of sport and leisure in the Greater Newry area Centre.
Speaking to Newry Times, Manager Peter Murray said, “Buttercrane is delighted to welcome this fantastic new USC/Sports Direct megastore to the centre.
“This is the largest retail store to open in NI since the lifting of Lockdown.
“I am certain the offering of fashion, sports and leisure will prove a huge attraction for the centre offering as it does something for shoppers of all interests.
“To have a major anchor store open at a time of perpetual challenge for bricks and mortar retail is a huge vote of confidence in the high street and in Buttercrane in particular,” he added.
