Newry burglary: Pensioner returns to find home ransacked

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of a burglary in the Fathom Line area of Newry on Thursday, 23 January.

Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Constable Middleton said, “It is believed sometime between 6.50 pm and 8.20 pm entry was forced into a property in the area.

“The homeowner, aged in her 80’s, returned home to find the property ransacked.

 

 

“However, it is not believed anything has been taken.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time or may have captured any dashcam footage to contact detectives in Newry on 101 quoting reference 1756 23/01/20.

 

 

“Information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“Crimestoppers is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
