Warrenpoint Road resurfacing ‘long overdue’ – Newry MLA
SDLP Infrastructure Spokesperson, Sinead Bradley MLA has welcomed the news that £400,000 worth of road works will commence on the A2 Warrenpoint Road dual carriageway, Newry bound.
Speaking to Newry Times, the South Down MLA said, “These road works are long overdue to deliver significant and badly needed improvements to both the structural integrity and surface of the road, on this busy dual carriageway.

“The resurfacing project will begin on the 6 of January, extending a distance of approximately 1000 metres, and it will be necessary to operate some closures.
“Residents and commuters can find more information on trafficwatch.com but please be advised to leave some extra time when planning any journeys, as delays are expected.
“I look forward to the completion of this work which is set to deliver benefits in terms of travel time and crucially, safety for road users.
“Indeed part of the work has already begun and motorists have noted a marked difference in road structure quality,” Bradley added.
