Newry police investigating possible link between masked men burglaries

Detectives in Newry are investigating two burglaries which they believe may be linked.

The break-ins occurred on Thursday 12 December.

One was at a house on Sheepbridge Road in Newry.

 

 

The other was at a property in Church View in Bessbrook.

Cash and jewellery were taken from each.

Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Constable Kenny said, “I am keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with information about these crimes.

 

 

“I would especially like to speak to anyone who may have seen a white jeep type vehicle in either area on the day of the burglaries.

“We are also investigating a possible link between these crimes and four masked men who were found to be in the garden of a house in Bernish Avenue in Bessbrook.

“The men made off in what’s described as a silver Audi when challenged by a member of the public.

 

 

“If you have any information that cpould help our investigation, please call 101, quoting reference 1529 12/12/19.

He added, “Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers without giving your details by calling 0800 555 111.”
