Detectives are investigating the report of an attempted burglary at a house in Armagh Street, Newtownhamilton on Tuesday 30 April.

An attempt was made to force entry through a window at the house sometime between 1pm and 1.30pm, causing damage to the window frame.

Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Constable Kenny said, “I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information about the incident to contact detectives at Ardmore on 101 quoting reference number 648 30/04/19.

He added, “Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
