Appeal for witnesses after South Armagh VW van theft

Police in Newtownhamilton are investigating the report of the theft of a van in Silverbridge on Tuesday 26 February.

Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Tom Nugent said, “A silver Volkswagen Caddy van was parked at the side of the road at Ford’s Cross around 3.30pm on Tuesday afternoon, and when the owner returned to collect it at around 8pm, discovered it had been stolen.”

“Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area and who noticed any suspicious activity to contact police at Newtownhamilton on 101 quoting reference number 1350 26/02/19.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” he added.
