Newry residents vehicles and properties damaged in “anti-social criminal incident”

Newry City Councillor Valerie Harte has spoken out after damage to a number of vehicles in the city.

She was speaking after an incident in the Church Street and Mount Pleasant areas of the city and said the entire affair has left the local community very angry.

“Residents who had their vehicles damaged in this serious anti-social criminal incident have been in touch with the PSNI.

“I would also encourage anyone living in the area who witnessed anything to contact the PSNI,” said the local Councillor.

The Sinn Féin representative continued, “The incident has caused much anger and frustration.

“People now will face costs of fixing their damaged vehicles and properties.

She added, “This is totally unacceptable behaviour and those engaged in these anti-community acts should be ashamed of themselves.”
