Elderly woman in intensive care after Newry collision

Police are appealing for information following a road traffic collision involving a silver, three-door car and a pedestrian in Newry on Tuesday 3 July.

An elderly lady was injured in the incident.

Police said it happened around 11.45am close to a car park in the Lower Water Street area of the city.

She remains in hospital in intensive care.

Speaking to Newry Times, Constable McCormac said, “The area was busy at the time of the collision and we would be keen to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened – particularly to one lady who did indicate to officers that she had seen the incident.

“I would ask her or anyone with information to contact us on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 637 of 3/7/18,” Constable McCormac added.
