Appeal for witnesses after Newry ‘firearms incident’

Detectives at Ardmore are appealing for information after an alleged firearms incident in Newry.

It is believed to have taken place in the early hours of Sunday, 1 July 2018.



Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Constable Watson said, “It was reported that at 1:00 am a firearm was discharged in the Chequer Court area of the city.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 115 01/07/18. 



Detective Watson added, “Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
