Speaking to Newry Times, Philippa McKeown Brown, Head of Consumer Empowerment and Protection at the Consumer Council, said, “In just under a week’s time the old £10 notes will cease to be legal tender and you will be unable to use them as a method of payment.

“We are urging consumers to hunt out any old paper £10 notes and either spend them or exchange them at their bank or Post Office.”
