Greenbank road surfaces ‘unacceptable and verging on unsafe’

Newry and Armagh Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has said that the present conditions of the surfaces on the roads into and around the Greenbank Industrial Estate in Newry are causing grave concerns.

He has confirmed that Road Service Officers have been asked to examine the road as a matter of urgency.

Speaking to Newry Times, the Newry MLA explained, “The roads in and around Greenbank Industrial Estate service a huge amount of traffic including HGVs.

“Concern has been raised with myself by business owners and motorists about the present condition of the road surface, quite frankly we believe it to be unacceptable verging on unsafe.”

He added, “We have contacted Roads Service and requested that they visit the road as a matter of urgency to assess the situation and hopefully address the problem as soon as possible.”
