Newry cyclists join the Fight for Alfie
Armagh Down CC has launched the Gullion Tour 2017 and is urging local cyclists to take part and help raise much-needed funds for the Fight For Alfie.
Setting off from Newry on Sunday 30th April, The Gullion Tour offers cyclists from all over Ireland the chance to ride a 60km or 100km route riding through the Ring of Gullion, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
And if the routes and scenery were not enough to tempt you to take part; this year, proceeds from The Gullion Tour will help the parents of five-year-old Alfie Pentony in their fight against the little boy’s disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystophy (DMD).

DMD is a progressive disease that will sadly attack little Alfie’s muscles and they will gradually get weaker and weaker with the possibility that Alfie may only live until he is 20 years old.
Alfie’s parents have teamed up with Armagh Down CC ahead of the Gullion Tour to raise funds for research into the disease and all riders will be asked to make a minimum donation of £15/€15.
Registration is open from 8.30am at Newry Sports Centre with riders departing at 9.30am.
Minimum donation is £15/€15.
